Walking!

A few days before our spring break trip we had Nate's best buddy Remi and his parents, Beverly and Adrian, over for brunch and swimming. For some reason Mack chose mid bagels to take his first steps!

Mack's first haircut

A total scream fest - a wild rabid animal being tortured.

And yet the cutest sweetest boy.

Driggs Pizza with Oha

Nate and Oha like Driggs Pizza the best of anywhere in the whole world it seems. On this chilly Saturday in March, the three of us took a walk around town. We first hit the candy store, then walked through the gentle snow to Driggs Pizza, where the three of us alternated "telling stories."  While Ron's and my stories usually involved pizza and bizarre adventures, Nate's stories went something like this: "D'are was d'is boy (giggle).. And hiz name... was POOPIE (giggle)." Ron and I tried not to laugh that hard -- why encourage poopie stories? -- but we couldn't help it.

Potty!

Who knew that Nate would be a potty savant? After our 3 day potty-don't-leave-the-house-boot-camp (WE WILL REPEAT THAT -- 3 DAY DON'T LEAVE THE HOUSE BOOT CAMP) and only a couple accidents, Nate is virtually potty-trained. What a huge difference - and he's so natural and cool about it like he's been doing it all along.

Drawing

Nate drew his first drawing of a person -- me actually -- today. He drew a body and a head and arms and legs and even hair and ears. Before today, Nate would scribble lightly or make dots and say "this is you daddy". I'd play along but whatever -- those dots didn't capture my green eyes or athletic shoulders or really look anything like me at all.

But today he drew a little man-being. It was a big step.

A scene after buying a car

Bizarre scene tonight after coming back with a new car (Subaru Outback):

Nate had just taken a bath and Shana was changing Mack's diaper when we heard a scream coming from the couch. Nate was naked and jumping around and he must have started coughing and thus gagging or something and so he threw up all over the couch. He started bawling. Shana and Mack came in and Mack was crying since Shana had the audacity to try to dress him. What happened, I asked Nate and he said I THREW UP and then he walked towards our bathroom and then he threw up some more. It got on Nate's feet. I dipped his feet in the bath which was still draining and then got a wet towel to clean the floor. Then Nate slipped on the wet floor. I SLIPPED ON DA FLOOR, he cried. I picked him up. Then I picked up a nasty couch cushion to clean that. IT'S ON DA PILLOW TOO, Nate pointed out. Why did you throw up? I asked Nate. I DON'T KNOW, was all he could say. Mack gobbled down a piece of American cheese after he finally settled down.
