Weekend funnies

Mack seems to be on the improve--sleeping more, crying less. This weekend we took him in the car for the first time to Huntington and he did ok! Then we had a very nice weekend with the Moshans-- Mack bonded with Papa and Nana and we went to the beach with Nate where he threw rocks for Emma to retrieve. Everyone got to take naps.

And Nate has been so damn cute lately with his words and play--yesterday in the car he pretended to call Opa on his hand (phone) and he told him we were going to a party (we were headed to a BBQ). After we left the BBQ, we asked Nate what he thought of the party, and he said it was "sooo small--and no bagels!" Earlier in the car Nate wanted his water bottle which I forgot at home and he kept asking for it. Finally he just got quiet. Finally he said more to himself, "I miss water."

Sanibel Island Vacation

On this last weekend in September, we spent a fantastic holiday at Sanibel Island, FL, with my parents and the Gessers. We played in the pools together, rented bikes (we got lost and most of the adults almost had heart attacks), canoed through gorgeous marshes (most of the adults almost had heart attacks), and found stunning shells on the beach. It was beautiful and sweet.

East Hampton Autumn

We went to the Fagen estate in East Hampton for Deconstructed Turducken, a yearly get together of friends to feast on Turducken. This year the group went all top chef, giving their interpretations to Turducken, rather than fitting a chicken into a duck into a turkey, something the group was loath to do. Nate was less into the food and more into the hang. Here he is playing in his first pile of leaves with Fagen's dog Sachy, riding in Fagen's open-aired jeep with Shana, and taking a morning walk on the deserted beach with his Pop.
